: Mr. Akira Minagawa; Congratulations to those of you who made it here today out of the 13,000 entries, and those of you who were awarded prizes. Looking at the works, I felt your passion and quest for new ideas and this made me recall the first days I started making clothes myself.
When you enter the real world, I want all of you to cherish the people who support your creations. Creation means valuing the inner world and the outer world. The inner world is where you bring happiness to the people who actually make the materials so that you can realize your creation. The outer world is where you bring happiness to the people who buy the products you put out.

I believe it is a duty for professional creators to take a moment from time to time, to think about the happiness of these people. Today, this may be just one point, but as time goes by these dots will become lines, and then lines will team up as a bundle. I want all of you to make good creations that will let the inner and outer world connect together and bring happiness to all the people involved.

Those of you who were awarded and those of you who made it here out of the 13,000 entries, good luck in your further quest in the road ahead. I hope today’s experience remains as an encouraging moment for you all.

: Mr. Antonio Berardi; First of all, I would like to thank the members of the jury who have done an amazing job. I would also like to thank Onward Kashiyama for organizing this event with the Japanese government which I think is probably one of the most prestigious fashion events in the world right now. It’s an absolute pleasure for me to be here, to participate in this event.

I would like to congratulate all of the finalists and the winners and remind everybody that is not on this podium that the very fact that you are here; you are winners anyway. I have been doing the Fashion Grand Prix for four years now and I think that all of us judges are very lucky to see so much talent year after year. I think this year has been an exceptional year. We have seen some amazing clothes and hopefully I am going to see some of you as amazing designers later on. I am sure you are all going to go on to great things in the future. You have all proved yourselves as designers and now it’s time for you to reach out and take a hold of your destiny and stir it in the right direction.

: Ms. Hanae Mori; Congratulations to all of you who have earned your awards. Your creations chosen out of 13,000 works, were fabulous in each way. I am very interested in the way young designers will be evolving, with high, high hopes.
This year’s works went beyond the conventional concept of “clothing.” It was a world of modern art. With global companies evolving everyday, our world is at the brink of a significant change. Viewing today’s show, a warm feeling came to me as I surely felt this change occurring. I felt a tingle of anticipation as to the direction of your creations. Good luck on your further endeavors.
