〈Prize for Excellence〉 (2 creations, one for each category: Women’s Wear/Men’s Wear): Certificate and 300,000 yen

〈Honorable Mention Prize〉 (20 creations): Certificate and 50,000 yen
Benefits
All participants who proceed to the Final Selection will be provided training and three years of business support aimed to become an independent designer.

The Support Measures Program


〈NABA Prize〉 (1 creation) Qualify for a study-abroad program at NABA, a fashion school in Milan. Qualify to take a two-year university master’s course or a two-week summer course.

〈Vantan Prize 〉(1 creation) Qualify for a membership in a incubation organization established by Vantan, a fashion school in Tokyo. Participate in one of the following courses of choice: “International X-SEED,” a course in English especially for foreign students, or “atelier X-SEED,” a one-year professional training course.

Application Qualifications
Students and members of the general public (people who already operate their own design offices or who have already publicly announced their collection are not eligible).
People who are able to attend the Final Selection. (Finalists will be invited to Japan.)
Creations
Creations should be wearable, original, and previously unreleased to the public. Judging will be based on the designer’s ability to express the design theme (freely chosen by the designer), originality of the design, and overall workmanship of the pattern and sewing.

Design drawings are judged.
A maximum of 20 creations in Women’s Wear Category and 10 creations in Men’s Wear Category will be selected.

Submission of

If the actual outfit is significantly different from the drawings submitted, it will be disqualified from judging in the Final Selection.

Selection

Actual creations will be judged by the public in fashion show format, and prizes decided.


*Note: You cannot submit the same creation to another contest, nor use the creation entered in another contest before.
Design drawings submitted will not be returned. Creations that win prize shall become the property of the sponsor.

Application Procedure (Outline)
One set of ① Design Drawing and ② Plane Illustration is to be submitted to the Overseas Application Office between June 1 (Tue) and June 25 (Fri), 2010. For details, please refer to the New Designer Fashion Grand Prix website.
